Base Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil Large drizzle
  • 8 ounces chicken sausage Cut into ¼ to ½ slices
  • 2-3 cups broccoli Roughly chopped
  • kosher salt
  • ground black pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded parmesan cheese

Cooking Instructions

  • In a large skillet on med/high heat, drizzle a good amount of olive oil in the pan. Once hot, add the sliced chicken sausage. Cook on one side for 2-3 minutes then flip each slice and cook on the other side for another minute or so until browned.
  • Now add the broccoli to the pan and season with a large pinch of salt and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes until broccoli is bright green and slightly soft.
  • Then add the garlic and orzo, and stir everything together. Heat for another minute.
  • Add the chicken broth and stir. Bring to a boil, then turn heat to low, cover, and simmer for another 10-5 minutes until orzo is soft.
  • Once all the liquid is absorbed, add the parmesan cheese and stir together. Serve immediately and sprinkle more parmesan cheese over if desired. Enjoy!
